Soul time vs Self Time~

Good evening Readers; Hope you all are doing well so far this new year. My personal goal is to diligently pursue a deeper relationship with my creator and strive every day to become more in His likeness and mission his Love for others! There will be days I fail miserably at having a Christ like attitude, but I will do my best and know that my best is what God deserves of me, anything less I’m not living up to all I know He created me  and equipped me to be and do through the power of His son Jesus Christ!
Let me ask you a question, how many of you love to curl up in a nice comfortable chair with a good book and snuggle under the blankest sipping your favorite hot drink? I love doing this especially on a cold rainy  and dreary day, How about taking a shopping trip to the mall and being able to splurge a little on yourself, or taking a relaxing  bubble bath,  All these things in themselves are not wrong at all, I refer to these as self time, time to focus on yourself once in awhile and give yourself the tender loving care that you deserve, we all need this, we all desire to have moments that can be just time away from everyone and everything and just relax. In today’s society where were always on the go, were always plugged in somehow, we find it hard to unplug and step away from the hustle of the business of our days!
So here is the question im asking you, what about “Soul Time” do you understand where im going with this? Like I said we all need to unwind and turn off and give yourselves time too. We are running so fast, we don’t even realize when were running on empty we end up running on fumes and exhaustion. we want ,we think that  what’s best for our down time is the things I mentioned, but there is a big difference in self time and soul time .
Self time takes care of the earthy,  and here and now needs of our bodies and our minds, but we need even more so soul time, Time to get into Gods word and let the spirit speak, no noise, no distractions. It’s the way we truly can unwind and come back into focus on what’s truly important in this life, what’s going to last,  are we setting our mind on eternal riches,  are we filling our minds with empty meaningless  distractions or are we investing in our eternal future.
When our bodies are tired, , and we feel worn down and weary, instead of always first winding down in front of your favorite TV show or video game or book, whatever it it that you find your solace in, try next time turning to God’s word first for your soul time. because this life is not A life of “I”  this life is so much more  deeper lasting value, what are we investing in, its just so easy to think im relaxing so im doing the best I can for me, but its not about just us anymore! If we truly want to be happier and cherishing life and thriving in what God has placed us here for,  the best way, we can invest is taking some extra soul time for your mind….but even more so for  your heart!
For true refreshment and renewal comes from what we are investing in, not what were watching! Invest in Eternal things above, for that is when you will find rest and you will come to realize as you grow in your spiritual walk that the more you take time for soul time, you will demonstrate a better self to God and to the world around you!
